In order to achieve its goals, the Rectors’ Forum carries out various activities.
Working groups on selected topics are one of the instruments used to promote cooperation between the member universities. The Rectors’ Forum has three working groups that organise annual meetings and prepare materials on various activities. The first working group deals with the development of education and science policy in Southeast Europe. The second working group deals with the progress and development of higher education programmes, and the third working group focuses on progress in research and innovation.
Every year, the university members meet at the Rectors’ Forum General Assembly, where various important decisions are made.
Several members of the Rectors’ Forum also work together within the Regional Network of Centres for Advanced Studies in Southeast Europe (RECAS), which focuses on early career researchers. RECAS includes the Centres for Advanced Studies of Southeast Europe at 7 universities (Rijeka, Belgrade, Ljubljana, Priština, Montenegro, Skopje, Sarajevo, Tirana). The centres strive to expand postdoctoral research, network young researchers and strengthen cooperation in the region.
In addition, the University of Ljubljana organises various activities and workshops on current topics within the framework of Eutopia More, the European University Alliance.
