The University of Mostar hosted the 3rd Rectors’ Forum of Southeast Europe and the Western Balkans from February 7 to 8, 2019, with the participation of 30 universities from the Western Balkans region.

At the forum, the rectors signed an Academic Inter-Institutional Cooperation Agreement aimed at strengthening international cooperation, particularly in the fields of scientific research, artistic activities, and faculty and student mobility, as well as in the development and implementation of joint study programs and joint applications for European projects, all with the goal of improving the quality of higher education and increasing international cooperation. The Alma Mater Europaea ECM delegation also participated in the forum, consisting of AMEU ECM Director Prof. Dr. Jurij Toplak, Head of the Department of Informatics, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Matej Mertik, and Director of the International Office, Dr. Goran Gumze. In addition to the aforementioned memorandum, AMEU ECM representatives signed a cooperation agreement to implement a joint Master’s study program in Digital Humanities under the Erasmus+ Mundus Joint Master Programs call, in collaboration with Austrian and Croatian partners.
AMEU ECM has been successfully cooperating with the University of Mostar since March 2018, when the President of AMEU ECM, Prof. Dr. Ludvik Toplak, and the Rector of the University of Mostar, Prof. Dr. Zoran Tomić, signed a bilateral cooperation agreement in Maribor.
